Cheap Costume Date

EEEEEEK!

Halloween is creeping up on us and will be here before you know it!

What do you love about Halloween?

Halloween has a special place in my heart. No, I'm not a closet emo preparing for the zombie apocalypse obsessed with the gore and the gross.   I do, however, have a fetish for the show, Ghost Hunters, scary stories, pumpkins, classic movies like Hocus Pocus {can you believe husband hasn't seen that?!} and, well, CHOCOLATE! I also heart black and white cheesy episodes of the Twilight Zone and own the first few seasons. I know what you're thinking--geeky but totally awesome, right? ...Right? *crickets* I also love this holiday because it's an excuse to just be silly!

Silly Costume Date

Take your date to D.I. or a Goodwill with a money limit of 10.00 or so. Then pick out outfits/goofy accessories for your date. After you're both decked out, go do something in public like bowling or dinner. It's a fun way to get to know someone's silly side and the looks that you get from people are hysterical!

If you do this date, we'd love to see your pictures!

CHEERS!

Cake Inspiration

Cake, anyone? I'm in love with how they arranged the flowers on this cake. The white cake and brown ribbon allow the blooms to pop!

Fall cupcakes for guests!

Though this picture is not the best, I absolutely love the ARGYLE! The pattern is totally Fall appropriate (makes me think of a preppy sweater!) and the bright greens, oranges, and pinks are delightful!

Have you recently attended a fall wedding? What did their cake look like? What did they serve their guests? We'd love your pictures and ideas to share with other Princeses! Watch for more wedding inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by!

Cheers!

Go with the Flow!

I'll admit it. Going with the flow is not easy for me. I'd rather exhaust myself by thinking about the "What ifs" and the "How comes" until I drive myself bonkers!
Let's face it. As girls, we have the tendency to make a  small problem into a HUGE deal! Hey, it's just part of being a girl, right? Think of all the energy we spend fighting the inevitable. Some things are out of our control (yes, really!). Learning to just go with the flow of life is so important. Instead of wasting precious time and energy on worry, anxiety, fear and anger, we can save our strength to deal with what is at hand.

Try it! It can be as simple as viewing your challenges in a different way. Instead of seeing your trials as mountains to climb, take it one step at a time. Some days that is all you can do and that's okay!

Take care of yourself, but look for ways to help others on the way. By lifting another person's load, before you know it, you'll have climbed your own mountain and be onto the next.

Once I realized that I was making life a ton harder than it needed to be, I felt incredible relief! Being okay with who you are and where you are in your journey is priceless; it brings happiness and peace.

You have too much to offer the world!
Don't let worry sap your creativity & Princess charm!

Autumn Wedding {Sigh}

Fall can be such a romantic season to have a wedding. With the changing leaves you and your love embrace a new change together. Some brides may hesitate to set the date for fall because they automatically think they have to resort to black and orange colors...Don't think Halloween, people! Think of the golden, delicious colors of harvest time!

Forget pastels! If you're tying the knot in the fall, stick with the vibrant hues of the season like golds, oranges, & reds. Here are some examples of beautiful autumn bouquets...

Fall Date Ideas

Mmmm...There's a chill in the air and trees are starting to turn beautiful autumn colors. Fall is my favorite season...ever! School is in session which means homecoming week, homecoming parades, & football teams (ahem-we saw you checking them out!). Add apple crisp & hot cocoa while you snuggle down with your favorite chick flick, and it's pretty near perfect!

Here is a bucket list for some fun fall date ideas...

  • Pick apples~make caramel apples or apple crisp
  • Go to a corn/straw maze (some of them are haunted at night!)
  • Have a "fall carnival" with some friends--bob for apples, doughnuts on a string, games
  • Go on a hike--Kelly's Canyon, Green Canyon, Ashton,  "R" Mountain, Island Park, etc.
  •  Plan an Autumn picnic & toss around a frisbee or football!
  •  Hayride-know someone with a truck or a tractor?
  •  Football Game (start your own or watch one)
  •  Try glow-in-the-dark football--open a    glowstick and cover yourselves & the    ball!
  •  Do service for an elderly person like cleaning up their yard. Play in the leaves!
  •  Pick your own pumpkins- Try Tolman's Pumpkin Patch in Rigby (west of Rigby  High)
  •  Haunted House like Dr. Slaughter's (I.F.) or the Haunted Mill
  •  Set up a movie outside...Watch a scary movie in a field or an abandoned  building!
  •  Bon Fire w/hotdogs & s'mores...Ghost stories, anyone?
  •  Find a bookstore & sip hot cocoa..mmmm...
  •  Go stargazing before it gets too cold! Bring "star treats" like milkyways and  starbursts
  •  Make caramel popcorn and snuggle in with a fall fav like Remember the Titans
  •  Make doughnuts & apple cider...yum!
  •  Horseback riding~so romantic!
  •  Carve pumpkins..of course! Roast the seeds too..
  •  Make a haunted gingerbread house with graham crackers and Halloween candy!

Happy Fall!
